Gil Scott Heron - Me And The Devil

by diggs, February.14.2010

For those of you not up on your poets, Gil Scott Heron is a legendary spoken word artist that penned quite a few classics back in the 70's and 80's, He was the first one to tell us that "The Revolution Would Not Be Televised", and then totally annihilated dance-floors with his socially conscious dance-floor hit "The Bottle". Well, Gil Scott is back after a super long hiatus, and "Me and the Devil" clearly shows that he hasn't lost his talent for schooling us on the realness, no matter how bleak that real realness may be. His new album "I'm New Here", is in stores now, be sure and give it a listen.
