Depp's Mad Hatter looks like Wonka on crack

Is it just me, or does Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter look like a cracked-out Willy Wonka? I've posted photos of both characters here so you decide for yourself. Also, checkout Disney's original classic 1951 "Alice in Wonderland" trailer vs Tim Burton's version. I guess Tim stays true to form, once again taking a childhood classic and putting his beautiful artsy dark spin on it. Rumor has it that Disney is going to render Burton's version in 3-D for its' 2010 release, as if wouldn't be trippy enough without the 3-D. Ha!
