WK Interact - Motion Portrait Exhibition
by Stu, June.23.2009
Anyone who has spent some time in downtown Manhattan in the last few years will be familiar with some of WK Interact's work. Those wheat pasted urban commandos creeping out from the doorways all over the Lower East Side and Soho have become a staple of the New York street art scene.
His latest work, which will be showing at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery starting this Saturday titled Motion Portrait will feature a collection of portraits entitled 12 Angry Men. This work is a departure for WK who in the past has focused on works featuring entire bodies in motion.
“These large 6 feet by 6 feet portraits move to convey the dynamic expressions of his powerful characters in raw emotion.”
There will also be a few of his signature kinetic door pieces such as the “Crosby 99 Street”.
