James Clar Light Installation

If you're ever around Dubai between the dates of March 18th through April 16th check out James Clar's very illuminating installation and lecture called "For your eyes only". If you really are going to be there at around that time I would be very VERY surprised and in awe of you. If you're not, just check out the awesome pictures taken from his installation.

I like how he moves from 2D objects and translates them into 3D space.
My favorites would be the laser lights that pierce through the walls and pillars and the You and Me installation. I thought it was quirky.

James Clar, has been recognized by numerous publications such as Architectural Lighting, Mark, Axis, IdN, including being awarded the "Design Distinction Award" by I.D. Magazine 2004 for his thesis project done at New York University’s Interactive Telecommunication’s Program. After receiving his Master’s James did work at Benetton's Fabrica design facility in Italy, he was an artist-in-residence at Eyebeam Atelier in New York, and was the inaugural artist for the FedEx Institute of Technology & Lantana Projects in Memphis. James has exhibited at numerous gallery spaces including New Museum of Contemporary Arts, Chelsea Art Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, Milan Trienniale, and did a collaborative piece for the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) New York, which was purchased for their permanent colleciton.. James has been invited to share his insight by guest lecturing at various conferences in New York, Seoul, Tokyo, Memphis, London, and Barcelona. He currently works at his studio in Dubai with Traffic Design Gallery where he is also Director of Interactive Media.
